By an unfortunate coincidence of both timing and naming, this miniconf will be held at the same time as LAC2005, the 3rd International Linux Audio Conference, in Karlsruhe, Germany. Hopefully we can arrange some kind of live link between the two events.
Making free software for embedded/mobile multimedia, web video and computer music; in C and Haskell, using algebra, type theory and git!

China and Open Source
Sunday's meeting with a Chinese Open Source delegation was very interesting. They were very keen to get our ideas of how open source can benefit industry, and we talked them through how it creates an economy of giving and taking sourcecode, and the non-monetary value that companies can get from using and participating in open source. I'm pretty keen to get involved further, perhaps at the Asia OSS conference in Beijing in March.
